A Look Back Over the Past 30 Years
Here is a look back at our previous locations!
1984: The Kansas Food Bank began operating out of a temporary rented space in Wichita. It partnered with 16 agencies to distribute nutritious food to families, children and seniors experiencing hunger.
1987: The first permanent food distribution center was purchased and opened on East Boston Street.
2006: The Kansas Food Bank moved to its current location on East Douglas Street. The new site is much larger, enabling us to double our food distribution capacity.
