Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer plans to plug the successes of the Food Bank’s No More Hungry Kids campaign tonight as he gives his annual address on the State of the City. Brewer has personally pledged that City Hall will help raise money to cover the cost of providing emergency weekend food to children attending two of Wichita’s most disadvantaged schools — Colvin Elementary and Stanley Elementary. In addition to reissuing a call for civic activism  in the face of child hunger, Brewer plans to single out for praise a number of citizen-led efforts on behalf of hungry children. The address will air live at 6 p.m. on Wichita Cable Channel 7 and will stream live on www.wichita.gov.
