Hunger Action Month 2024 – Kansas Food Bank

Hunger Action Month 2024

Everyone needs nutritious food to thrive. Yet, tens of millions of people in the United States — including Kansans and their families — face hunger.

This September, join the Kansas Food Bank in the movement to end hunger. Your voice, actions, and commitment will help ensure every community has the food they need to thrive. Because when people are fed, futures are nourished.

Every action — big or small — is one step closer to an America where no one is hungry. Join the nationwide movement to end hunger by donating, volunteering, or advocating. Check the activities below to see how you can take action this month!

Scouting for Food: Scouting America and Dillons are teaming up for a two day drive to collect nonperishable items at Dillons stores across Kansas to kick off Hunger Action Month early. Sign up your troop here!

Official Proclamation: The Wichita City Council and Mayor Lily Wu will officially proclaim September as Hunger Action Month at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 3rd @ 9:00 AM, with City Hall illuminated orange, the official color of Hunger Action Month, September 1st – 7th.

Fill a Bag, Feed a Family: This initiative is back for the second year, sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas, with our goal of filling 5,000 bags with food! Reach out to pick up bags for your school, office, club or for yourself, fill them with our most-needed items listed, and return them by the end of the month. This is a great Hunger Action Month activity to do with your kids!
