Become a Kansas Food Bank Barrel Buddy by “adopting” a grocery store! The program involves picking up food donations from our Kansas Food Bank-branded barrels located in Wichita and Garden City grocery stores and bringing them to Kansas Food Bank. You can adopt as many stores as you would like.
Our Barrel Buddies are vital in ensuring that food donations are collected efficiently and in a timely manner to be distributed to our neighbors in need.
Requirements:
- This is a weekly commitment; volunteers are asked to check their adopted stores once per week.
- Must be able to make a 3-month commitment.
- Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Food collected must be brought back to Kansas Food Bank within 24-hours.
