Every fall, our dear partners at Spirit AeroSystems host many events and fundraisers benefiting the Kansas Food Bank during their Spirit of the Harvest campaign. Historically, the campaign has always provided thousands of dollars of support and food collected through the campaign, but Spirit of the Harvest 2024 was something truly incredible.
Thanks to the generosity and participation of many, many Spirit team members, Spirit of the Harvest 2024 helped raise over $37,000 for the Kansas Food Bank through a variety of different events and opportunities. Events like:
- Rappel for a Reason
- Jersey Day
- Cornhole Tournament
- Bake Sale
- Chili Feed
- Physical canned food donations
- Spirit of the Harvest Gala Dinner for the Food Bank’s 40th Anniversary at Scotch & Sirloin
Jim Cocca, Spirit Global Supply Chain Leader and Kansas Food Bank board member, commented “While we can’t thank each of our Spirit Team Members enough for participating in these activities, your contributions, both financial and through event engagement, speak volumes about our shared commitment to the cause. Special thanks also go to everyone who organized, volunteered, and promoted these events. Together, we’ve made a difference, bringing hope to families and children in our community. While our sentiments echo Jim’s, we just wanted to share a very heartfelt thanks to all who joined Spirit of the Harvest 2024, and the part each person played in our fight against hunger in Kansas. We are so grateful, and know these gifts will continue to help provide nourishment for the 1 in 5 Kansans experiencing hunger.
