This holiday season, Newell Brands presented the Kansas Food Bank with a generous gift to the Food 4 Kids program. The $10,000 gift will help provide chronically hungry Kansas kids with weekend packets of easy to open, easy to eat food. Currently, the Food 4 Kids program serves over 5,600 children in over 330 schools on a weekly basis across the state, at no cost to the schools or families, which means it’s completely funded through grant opportunities and private donors.
The much-needed grant comes as a result of local Coleman employees nominating and voting for the Kansas Food Bank to receive the funding, and we are so honored to be one of 26 nonprofits nationwide to receive funding. Local Coleman / Newell Brands team members presented us with the gift, and then got to spend the day touring and volunteering with us!
Support from Newell Brands means that many children will receive the assistance they need to have food through the weekend, and return to school on Monday more energized and ready to learn and thrive.
