September is Hunger Action Month as part of Feeding America’s nationwide initiative to use our voices and actions to fight hunger and raise awareness about food insecurity in our community.

Fill a Bag, Feed a Family this Hunger Action Month – All throughout the month of September, we are challenging individuals, businesses and organizations alike to take action and help feed our Kansas neighbors.
Pick up a bag at the Kansas Food Bank that lists our most-needed items, fill it, and return it by the end of the month. Thanks to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas for providing these bags, our goal is to fill 5,000 bags!
Don’t forget to tell your friends, family, and coworkers using #HungerActionMonth and #KFBHAM2023 on your social media!

September will be proclaimed Hunger Action Month by the City of Wichita on Tuesday, September 5th at 9:00 AM.
In addition to the official proclamation, City Hall will be turned orange from dusk to dawn from September 1st through the 7th to raise awareness about food insecurity in our community, and urge community members to take action during the month of September!
We invite you to join us at the proclamation, tag us in your photos on social media and use #KansasHAM2023 to spread awareness.


Zero Hunger Zero Waste Powered by Girl Scouts is a one day food drive at 28 Dillons locations in Wichita, Derby, Hutchinson, Salina, Hays and Garden City in honor of Hunger Action Month!
Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland will be volunteering with their troops to collect our most-needed food items from 11 AM – 2 PM on Saturday, September 9th, 2023.
The drive will also celebrate the kickoff of the register round up campaign at Dillons through their Zero Hunger Zero Waste initiative to end hunger and eliminate waste, and all proceeds will be donated to the Kansas Food Bank throughout the month of September.
Open Streets ICT – Sunday, September 17th from 12-4 PM at Kansas Food Bank. Join the Kansas Food Bank and Dillons for a produce packing party in the parking lot! More details to come on this awesome community event!

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux Fundraising Night – Wednesday, September 20th
Join the Kansas Food Bank from 5-9 PM at Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux in Wichita for delicious food that fights hunger!
15% of all sales will be donated back to the Kansas Food Bank when you mention the fundraiser.
Orangetheory Fitness Outdoor Workout & Fundraiser – Sunday, September 24th at 10:30 AM at Naftzger Park. Grab your sneakers, and join Orangetheory and the Kansas Food Bank to sweat it out for Hunger Action Month! All are invited to attend, with a suggested donation of $5. Other Ways to Give

Dillons Community Rewards – Every time you shop at your local Dillons and use your Dillons Plus Card, a donation will be made to the Kansas Food Bank. All you have to do is enroll your card online. Our organization number is UK853 or you can search for us by name. (donations are not tax deductible)

Walmart Spark Good – New in 2023, round up your total when you shop at Walmart, at Walmart.com or on the app, and your change will be donated to the Kansas Food Bank! Follow this link to select the Kansas Food Bank as the recipient of your generosity and 100% of your donation! (donations are not tax deductible)

Instacart Community Carts – New in 2022, easily donate items directly to the Kansas Food Bank through the Instacart app! Choose from some of our most-needed items, and Instacart will waive the delivery fee. Facebook Fundraisers – Facebook makes it easy for you to create fundraisers for events, special causes, and even your birthday. Designate the Kansas Food Bank as the recipient and we will receive 100% of the donations received.
